River and Tributary Clean-Ups
Our mission is to preserve and enhance the Little River and one way we do this is through clean-up events throughout the watershed.
It is important to remove trash, debris, and other pollutants from our waterways because it negatively impacts our environment and health. We need to clean up our watershed because it:
Improves river habitat
Protects biodiversity
Improves water quality
Safeguards our drinking water
Makes Little River a better place to recreate!
Want to get out and clean-up our watershed on your own time? Can’t make a scheduled Little River Watershed Association clean-up, but want to help? You can get everything you need to do a clean-up on your own time. We can provide gloves, grabbers, trash bags, high visibility vests, and hand sanitizer. Just let us know when and where you plan to do this and we will coordinate getting you what you need and get the trash you collected picked up!
Upcoming Clean-ups:
Join us for our first clean-up of 2026! Right at our office location, you will get the chance to come and see where the LRWA magic happens. We are located at 1006 E Lamar Alexander Pkwy in Maryville, directly adjacent to Brown’s Creek and we could use some help picking up trash around the area. RSVP at the link below.
(RSVP is not necessary, it just helps us get an idea of who is coming)
