The “Business Friends” program is the sister-program of our Friends of the Little River Program that we launched in May of 2021. 

Our goal is to build support and community among regional businesses interested in partnering with LRWA and aiding our work in the Little River Watershed.  

The Little River Watershed Association (LRWA) was founded in 1998 by a group of people that were passionate about the advocacy and protection of the Little River in East Tennessee.  Our mission is to protect, preserve, and enhance the Little River and its tributaries by mobilizing public support, building public awareness, performing project-based activities and recommending best management practices based on a scientifically informed perspective.  In short, our association is the “Voice of the Little River”.    

Since then LRWA has ebbed and flowed in different capacities over the last almost 30 years.  Throughout the last couple decades we have done countless river cleanups, led free educational programs, and completed conservation and water quality projects. Most of our accomplishments have been achieved by partnering with other organizations with similar missions and support from the local community and businesses.

At this current time, we are trying to grow our organization to make an even bigger impact on our ecosystem and community and we need help. This includes organizing more river cleanups, expanding our free educational programming, teaming up with local government to make Little River more accessible to the public, and creating projects to positively affect our water quality. Little River Watershed Association would like to formally invite your business to partner with us and become a “Business Friend of the Little River” to help us achieve our goals and give back to our community.
