Ijams River Rescue

This year we have partnered with Ijams Nature Center for their River Rescue event and will have a site in Blount County! Here are the details via the Ijams website:

It's almost time for the 32nd annual Ijams River Rescue, presented by TVA! It's a great way to safely get out, get active, and clean up the Tennessee River and its creeks and streams to make the Greater Knoxville Area an even better place to live, work, and play!

This event brings together 500-800 volunteers to remove between 10-40 tons of trash from the Tennessee River’s shorelines and its tributary creeks.

In 2020, 500 volunteers safely removed 12.6 tons of garbage from 32 sites! Let's blow that "out of the water" this year!

Join your fellow East Tennesseans to make a difference in our community Saturday, March 27, from 10 am to 1 pm.

Outdoor cleanups are a great way to give back, get active and stay safe because you can be outside and physically distance from everyone around you.
