Nominations are due by May 16. Please take time to nominate those people who have been assets to our community through their thoughtful or purposeful action of helping our local environment directly in a number of ways. The categories for an Environmental Achievement Award are: Individual - a person that has made a significant contribution to an environmental issue in Blount County. Building Re-use: for creative re-use of an existing building in Blount County. Businesses and Corporations: for those companies or groups of people who have made an effort that goes above and beyond the minimum regulations or requirements to enhance our local ecosystems or natural environment. Civic or Government / Schools: nominate that school who is teaching kids to recycle, compost or that government department that is making a difference in Blount County. Churches / Non-profits: for efforts to recycle, reuse, repair or restore our natural environment in Blount County in a creative or collective way. BRAVO awards - recognizing businesses for maintaining clean and attractive properties. Attached is the Nomination form.
